Digression in Progression : Run

Whilst blogging about my Aussie trip, my friend told me something she predicted and all I can do now is to dedicate this song to her. I'll treat you to Ben and Jerry's the time we meet. Meanwhile be happy happy, with your DVDs.

If I Could Turn Back The Hands of Time by R.Kelly

How did I ever let you slip away
Never knowing I'd be singing this song some day
And now I'm sinking, sinking to rise no more
Ever since you closed the door

If I could turn, turn back the hands of time
Then my darlin' you'd still be mine
If I could turn, turn back the hands of time
Then darlin' you, you'd still be mine

Funny, funny how time goes by
And blessings are missed in the wink of an eye
Ohh Why oh why oh why should one have to go on suffering
When every day I pray please come back to me

If I could turn, turn back the hands of time
Then my darlin' you'd, you would be mine
If I could turn, turn back the hands of time
Then my darlin' you'd, still be mine

And you had enough love for the both of us
But I, I, I did you wrong, I admit I did
But now I'm facing the rest of my life alone, whoa

If I could turn, turn back the hands of time
Then my darlin' you'd, you would be mine, whoa
If I could turn, turn back the hands of time
Then my darlin' you'd, still be mine

Ohh I'd never hurt you (If I could turn back)
Never do you wrong (If I could turn back)
And never leave your side (If I could turn back)
turn back, the hands (the hands)

There'd be nothing I wouldn't do for you (If I could turn back)
Forever honest and true to you (If I could turn back)
If you accept me back, in your heart, (If I could turn back the hands)
And I love you

Whoa (If I could turn back)
That would be my will (If I could turn back)
Darlin' I'm begging you to take me by the hands (If I could turn back the hands)

I'm going down, yes I am (If I could turn back)
Down on my bended knee, yeah (If I could turn back)
And I'm gonna be right there until you return to me, whoa (If I could turn back the hands)

If I could just turn back that little clock on the wall (If I could turn back)
Then I'd come to realize how much I love you (If I could turn back)
Love you. Love you. Love you (If I could turn back the hands)

4 A.M Spell

I couldn't sleep plus I'm bored stiff so I decided to do a cover of Marie Digby's Spell. I thought singing it might make me feel sleepy because the song sounds so dreamy and soothing. Didn't worked for me. :(

Anyway, may I present you...

What Happens If You Star 2 Sex Bombs In A Video?

You'll get an saucy hot sexy video, duh. v_v Check out Koda Kumi's latest MTV featuring Fergilicious Fergie, That Ain't Cool!

It's nothing surprising, but I wasn't expecting Fergie to be part of Koda's video. I mean, most Koda's videos are sultry and down dirrrty whereas Fergie's has a style of her own...if you know what I mean.

I think it's a lovely attempt to see someone from the west doing a duet with another from the east. I love the idea! We should have more of that, don't you think? World peace.

Now now, I know you're excited. Here's what you have been waiting for. The video! Sit back and enjoy!

To Those I Once Loved

Memories by Ronin

Memory
Fading from the mind like a melody
Tangled in the reverie of time
It's so hard to say goodbye

And endlessly
Talking to the angels of your heart
Dancing with the demons of regret
It's so hard to let you go

Paint a picture in my mind
A life I had but left behind
Baby when you call my name will you still care

Tenderly
Slip away to find a better place
Just flying flying flown away from home
Now you stand alone
Now you stand alone

one of the best local bands i've ever known, Ronin comes up with brilliant, heartfelt songs like this and it just keeps on questioning, why the disband? a pity to see people who make good music just disappear in the midst of no where.

to those i once loved, life and love are such vicious cycles; let's get over it and move on with our lives. find the happiness in me and the happiness in you. i wish you the best.

not surprisingly, Cook burst into tears once more, this time it's tears of joy as the news of his victory sank in. he performed the winning song “Time Of My Life“. it was truly amazing, he had everyone on their seats up applauding.

5/21/08

American Idol Season 7 - Your Final 2

it's the moment of truth. who will emerge American Idol Season 7's winner? the ballad singer or the rocker?

the show started differently; boxing idols? okay gotta be kidding me. anyhows, let's just move on to the competition, shall we?

Round One - Clive Davis' Choice

the match started with David Cook singing a U2 number, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For“ which is one of my favourites. David Cook rocked it, ending the song with his signature note. Randy thought it was hot, Paula loved it and Simon thought it was phenomenal.

speaking of phenomenal, it was young David who struke back with an Elton John song, "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" (Clive Davis really knows his songs yea?), another favourite song of mine! he got me goosebumps all over! the song ended with audiences screaming and applauding (i got up and clapped too v_v) .

Randy exclaimed in a frenzy manner i've never seen before. he chuckled and went, "David, it doesn't matter what happens right now, you gotta know one thing: this is one of the best performances of this whole season, and you picked the right time to peak baby! That was flawless and unbelievably molten hot! Argh crazy vocals! Crazy vocals, crazy!" Paula felt chills just like i did and Simon went on mentioning how that performace was arguably the best Archuleta had done so far, with that Archuleta won round one.

Round Two - Songwriter's Contest Winning Songs

David Cook picked what he does best, another Rock genre song titled "Dream Big". inspirational, loved the rhythm and the lyrics but it sounded like it's been sung in some random gig where people mosh around. the song was pretty much, forgettable. i have to agree with what Simon said, that it did not sound any like a winner's song at all.

David Archuleta picked a perfect song, "In This Moment", which i thought sounded somehow similar to Josh Groban's February Song. what a winner's song indeed! with lyrics that goes "...in this moment, no one can take it from me..." (psst! take that, Cook!) the judges loved it, Simon joked about how self centered and egoistical the lyrics of the song are, announcing that Archuleta won round 2 as well.

Round Three - Finalist's Choice

one of Collective Soul's best, David Cook showed his sensitive side and chose "The World I Know". a song with lyrics that i really appreciate. maybe that song meant a lot to me so was it for Cook as he burst into tears after performing. Randy and Paula agreed that Cook did a good job whereas Simon thought otherwise. Simon commented Cook for being one of the nicest, most sincere contestant American Idol had however, despite the beauty of the song, he thought it was a wrong song choice for Cook.

wrapping up was David Archuleta who encored one of his best performances during his Idol journey, Imagine. i thought it would sound exactly the same as before but obviously, he proved me wrong and did so much better, he left me speechless. Simon said, "Erm you know, we've taken a little bit of a stake this year in the competition. But at the end of the day, the show, is about finding a star. And tonight, I think we've witnessed one of the great finals. But, here's the difference; in my opinion David, you came out here tonight to win, and what we have witnessed is a knockout."

gee, i have no idea who's winning this competition, but it seemed like Archuleta won the night, but hey, it's the votes that matter.

American Idol Season 7 Top 3 Review

tonight, the contestants will perform three songs choices which consisted of the judges’, the contestants’ themselves and the producers’.

apparently the judges and producers definitely know how to choose the appropriate songs, leaving the contestants completely clueless about song choices, which eventually didn't turn out what i expected it to be...i'll explain that in a later bit.

it was down to the top 3, and who's gonna pimp the night? Hint: one of the David(s)

David Archuleta was the first, he sang:
  1. Paula Abdul's choice: “And So It Goes“
  2. David’s choice: “With You“
  3. Producers’ choice: “Longer“
it was expected for David to be singing ballads, AGAIN...i mean can you imagine David Archuleta's brand new album with 90% consisting of ballads? kill me! in a whole, David did okay in the first round, tried too hard in the next and put me to sleep on the third. if you did notice every single line in David's "With You", he almost forgot his lyrics! but he scraped through anyways. David Archuleta might have the strongest and most beautiful vocals you have heard in Idol history but he proved us tonight that he isn't versatile enough to carry out a R&B song.

Syesha Mercado's songs are:
  1. Randy Jackson's choice: “If I Ain’t Got You”
  2. Syesha’s choice: “Fever“
  3. Producers’ choice: “Hit Me Up”
Syesha started with Alicia Key's "If I Ain't Got You" and it was no surprise she hit her notes and did a great job! then, she did rhythm and blues with the song "Fever" by Peggy Lee which i thought was sexy but cabaret. Syesha's last song was utterly dreadful! that Happy Feet song "Hit Me Up"? more like "Kill Me Please"! nonetheless, Syesha demonstrated proficiency in three completely different genres that awe struck me.

Pimped all the way was David Cook! he performed:
  1. Simon Cowell’s choice: “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”
  2. David’s choice: “Dare You To Move”
  3. Producers’ choice: “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”
it was rumoured whoever that sings Simon's choice wins the competition. anyhows, David Cook did an okay rendition of "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", it wasn't impactful but nevertheless it's good. when it was announced that David is going to sing "Dare You To Move" by Switchfoot, my ears sprung and my eyes widened (no exaggeration) because that's one of my favourite songs ever! it sounded average (i thought i'd love it but it turns out to be...v_v) and apparently, wasn't the judges favourite. David closed the show with Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" and it was awesome! i loved the arrangement where the violinists started playing with David scoring the best performance of the night.

IMHO, the best of each round:
  • Round 1: David Archuleta
  • Round 2: Syecha Mercado
  • Round 3: David Cook
it might look even, but the results are pretty obvious.

who's going home tomorrow? i guess we all know who. anyways, it was a fairly lackluster show that will likely make the American Idol final two look exactly like the final two we've been expecting for weeks.

what say you? leave comments!

Jason Castro Got Shot Too

so who's getting the last laugh in American Idol? boy oh boy, aren't we not surprised it's the happy smiley Jason Castro! he shot the Sheriff, the Tambourine man...and i guess he had the last laugh and got shot in the heart too, of course.

goodbye to funky dreadlocks! anyhows, Jason, you're in Top 4 and millions are vying for Top 4 so hey, give a pat on your back, son! stay happy as always! i'm sure you're aware of that song by Bob Marley..uh..what's it called again? yes! "Don't Worry, Be Happy"! your fans are proud of you!

American Idol Top 4 Recap

Round One

First up was David Cook and he started with “Hungry Like The Wolf“, and i don't feel any hunger, i cried like a wolf though. however it was a good performance, as usual.

Then was the only female finalist left, Syesha Mercado looked fabulous! she spiced things up with yet another upbeat song, “Proud Mary" by diva Tina Turner. Syesha was in her zone again with all moves and the awesome singing.

up next was dear happily ever after Jason Castro who decided to do Marley's "I Shot The Sheriff". i say, SHOOT ME PLEASE! it was utterly dreadful! (and that mask with the "thread-locks", tell me about it v_v). my god you should have seen my 1 million-dollar jaw dropping expression. not surprisingly, the judges hated it, even dear Paula gave a check (in a nicer way, of course).

Archuleta at his cutest

David A showed the rest how it's done - the David Archuleta way. when he went.."darling darling...stand by me...ooohhh", everyone went crazy. i believed his rendition of "Stand By Me" made Ben E King proud. also, if you did listen carefully, he even tried to mix in Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls” at a point. the judges loved it, and he's got a standing ovation...woohoo!

Round Two

David Cook came back and sang “Baba O’Reilly“ which was much better than the wolf hungry song. simon smirked and commented, “welcome back, David Cook”.

Syesha sang “Change Is Gonna Come“ which in the end turned into some kind of an emotional wreck for her. i thought the performance was lovely as she did display her vocal ranges however the judges gave different reviews. Randy thought it was over the top on the vocals, Syesha was close to teary and broke down after Paula gave her major props for her amazing vocals. Simon unexpectedly agreed with Paula, leaving Syesha with tears. she looked great with her long flowing dress, nonetheless.

Jason came back forgetting part of his lyrics from “Mr Tambourine Man“. great, from shooting the sheriff to the tambourine man, who's next? i thought Jason did okay (despite forgetting the lyrics) but it was a weak performance. hello, you're nearing the finals and you're forgetting your lyrics? *smack head yet again the judges didn't liked it, with Simon offering help to pack Jason's suitcase.

Archuleta crushed it!

lastly, David Archuleta closed the show with the all-so-tenderly tender “Love Me Tender“ by Elvis Presley. he breezed through, of course! simon said he crushed the competition.

my guess on tomorrow's elimination round?

Jason Castro *smiling* leaving the Top 3 finalists, David Cook, Archuleta and Syesha

Chris Brown VS. Usher

Usher is back for good! i'm super lovin' latest single, Love in This Club — the first single from his 2008 album, Here I Stand.

the beat is sick and the dance routine near the end of the video evidently shows us why he’s still the prince of R&B.

Chris Brown is the new Usher. check out his latest single, Forever ft. Lil Wayne - the fifth overall single from his second studio album, Exclusive.

who's getting the love?

EXCLUSIVE: Justice VS. Coldplay

can't get enough of D.A.N.C.E? Justice came out with their latest video, Stress. in "Stress," though, the shit-kicking is all too literal: this clip is a high-definition faux-documentary of an afternoon with Paris's most violent Justice fans (except apparently they cannot stand "D.A.N.C.E."). it's jarring, it's cool, and rated † for extremely un-Christian behavior.

also, Coldplay announced FREE MP3 (for just one week, because major labels can't have a good idea without saddling it with a bad one). their latest album, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends is coming to town! [click here]
meanwhile, this is the album cover of their latest album. check it out!

Your Top 4 & American Idol Season 7 Top 5 Studio Recordings

goodbye, Brook White

Top 5 - Brooke White = 3 guys 1 girl.

sounds familiar? it's like Season 6 all over again, except this time, the guys are dominating.

meanwhile, enjoy as Natasha Beddingfield performs 'Pocketful of Sunshine' and Neil Diamond with 'Pretty Amazing Grace'. they're amazing!

so, i predict that Jason will be the next to leave, happily ever after. Syesha will edge through making it to Top 3 while both David(s) will take it down at the finale.

Rock 'n' Roll theme is up next week!

it's not surprising that next week will be a divine night for Cook (DOH, like that is his forte)...a downfall for Jason though.

download the Top 5 Studio Recordings here right now!

American Idol Season 7 Top 5

5 warriors left on a battlefield. who do you think will emerge survivor?

the top 5 with Neil Diamond

tonight on American Idol, the 5 warriors are taking on stage with the songs of Neil Diamond! it's bigger and better; each finalist gets to sing 2 songs of their choice! okay, don't get too hyped up just yet. the real show has yet to begun.

ROUND ONE

Jason Castro gave an acoustic guitar performance of "Forever in Blue Jeans". subtle, but i liked it, however agreeing to what Simon said, it's forgettable.

David Cook brought Neil Diamond goosebumps with his practice performance of "I'm Alive," which many seldom listen to. i'm a totally biased person, because i think David sings well and does music arrangements brilliantly. just take a look at Billie Jean and Always Be My Baby!

Brooke White did "I'm a Believer" and trust me on this, it was way too scary. *pouts*

David Archuleta took off with "Sweet Caroline" and sounded great as usual. it seems like David Archuleta is setting the benchmark for the rest of the contestants.

Syesha Mercado said "Hello Again." "It's nice to meet you." and i was just crapping on that as well. she sung beautifully! it just gets better after every round, now i'm confused.

ROUND TWO

Jason Castro came back with "September Morn," and honestly it sounded sloppy and...oh, wait. it sounded like an American Idol yet another failed audition.

David Cook performed "All I Really Need is You." he cooed me! and guess i really need him, i mean his songs and new album in my iPod!

Brooke White revived with "I Am, I Said" her style, her rendition. it was so so so soooo much better compared to the first. guess what Brooke really needs to do is to find her niche and master stage professionalism.

David Archuleta blasted with "America." (DOH) good performace, smart song choice.

Syehsa Mercado closed the show with "Thank the Lord for the Nighttime." i loved it! i thought she was one of the best vocalist that night but to my surprise Simon said she might be in trouble which made me ponder a bit and i think i apprehended what Simon meant: Popularity a.k.a Votes

i won't be talking about what the judges commented but i wanna point out something cute about Paula Abdul that made me laugh. after Round One, Ryan Seacrest asked for the judges' opinions and Paula started with Jason and mentioning that Jason's lower register was nice and then started talking about his second song, which he hasn't even sung yet. she then said, "i thought you sang twice!" cute lol.

my guess on who's out tomorrow? Brooke White or Jason Castro.

Malaysian DJs, Lovely Parodies!

haha i was so amused by this parody done by JJ and Rudy, whom i assume are Malaysian DJs. they have done Malaysia and mamak proud! witty ditty, the duo came up with a mamak version, with style and spice okay! from "where do you get your body from" to "where do you get your tosai from"...it's gotta be something!

i know little about Malaysian culture, but i appreciate different cultures; they're eye openers and it's always something new to me, which i like a lot!

this Malaysian student in UK commented:

"From a foreigner's point of view, the sight of a mamak stall packed with people who congregate in groups of tens to watch a football match with servings after servings of roti telur and kopi kurang manis in the sweltering heat and humidity might appear rather bizzare. Add to that the fact that you'll find people of all ages (from teenagers to working professionals and senior citizens) and of all races (we Chinese love our mamak, no?) - and what you get is a melting pot with a unique experience that can't be replicated anywhere else in the world (imagine a place like Murni or Steven's Corner in London O.o). Should you have the chance to bring a foreigner to a mamak stall, do it! Whether (s)he likes it or not, it would be an experience from her visit to Malaysia that he won't forget."

haha now i feel like going to Malaysia for some cheap food and shopping! now does anyone wanna tag me along? :)

by the way, i googled for JJ and Rudy, and they have other parodies of hit songs like Fast & Furious...

and the catchy Don Cha by PCD...

haha i just love original parodies which worth a laugh! sit back, enjoy and maybe dance along :)

Dance Like There's No Tomorrow

have you heard?!

Paula Abdul debuted her new single off Randy Jackson’s new album in the top 24 results show of American Idol, and all I have to say is one word - HOTTTT!

besides turning piles of turd into flowers, it seems like Paula Abdul does remember how to sing!
