I Really Want A...

tongue piercing!!!

i don't care! i want a tongue piercing! i want a tongue piercing! i want a tongue piercing! i know it sounds crazy, and many will object me to do one, but i have been craving for that since 2005 despite reaching the legal age!

many percept that body piercing among teenagers is a form of rebellion. many teenagers have been known to have numerous piercings just to spite their parents and society. not me!

as of May 2008, Elaine Davidson has a total 5,920 piercings

while the increasing number of people are doing it as a fashion statement, the idea of being seen to be at the cutting edge of fashion and being with the "in" crowd. not me either!

with the above said, my initial desire wasn't based on rebellion or fashion. i just want a feel of it it on my tongue! oh by the way, it's rumoured that tongue piercings are not only great at kissing, the outcome of oral sex and foreplay were great as well. ( ha ha ha now you know my secret...just kidding lah!) i personally choose to believe that my stand of piercing can also be used to make a social statements or an opportunity to create one's own rites of passage - childhood to adulthood and one relationship to the other being most common.

"But observers are keen to note that today body piercing is not just a fad being followed by a few teenagers, or extremists rebelling against conservative values. The practise is being recognised as a personal statement marking an individual's passage through life's experiences, and for many, it is a tool through which they find a means of expressing their own inner sense of being.

- an excerpt from some online forum

i had a small talk with my dad, hoping i could at least gain consent to the tongue piercing...

Me: Pa, remember that day I asked you about the tattoos? what about piercings?
Mr Yeong: what kind of piercings? Ear piercing? Sure.
Me: No, tongue piercing! Will you allow me to go tongue piercing?
Mr. Yeong: No
Me: Why? Are you going to pour acid over my tongue again? (The answer he gave me when I asked if I could have a tattoo)
Mr. Yeong: I'll cut it.

great! that was expected - Mr. Yeong said NO! but i'll do it anyways! however, not too soon, i guess. :@

fyi, xiaxue got herself a tongue piercing! check this video out! awesome-ness!

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

i forced my own limping legs to Suntec Convention today as there was another round of warehouse sales. if sales up to 80% doesn't attract you, then i think sales isn't what you're seeking for. so anyway, i dragged my sister along; she's my crutch, you see. since both of us enjoyed each other's company, and we both love SALES, i don't see why dragging her along would be much of a hassle.

we reached the convention only to see DISAPPOINTMENT written all over our faces. 3 rooms were used but only 2/5 of the space was used for products, the other 3/5 i assumed, for air ventilation. i expected more products to be on sale, however only a few like Aigner, Levis, Liz Claiborne and this ABC brand were on the racks waiting to be sold to the crowd.

my anticipation turned from sky high to hell low..pardon for the weird figure of speech but you get my gist. lol

we stared at each other and agreed to fill our anger and disappointment with food. turning to Lerk Thai, which is one of our favourite Thai food joints, we both ordered something soupy and these were what we had!

my sister has a fate with beef, i don't know why.
ps: lose some weight so you can wear pretty apparels from topshop!

it's too yummy, i suppose...

the hot, sour and spicy feel sent shivers down my spine

after satisfying Lerk Thai, i staggered around madly checking out the shops in Marina Square with my sister. we bought pens from Meji Muji! you just don't know how much my sister and i have a passion for the things sold in Meji Muji! especially the pens! mauehuahe :0 and that was the only things we bought for the day. v_v

anyhow, our tummy begged for more food, so both of us settled at Azabu Sabo! if miss ave and miss sam didn't introduce me Azabu and Harto, i wouldn't even know they existed till today! :|

this dish made me literally smile;
it sent me straight to gastronomic heaven!

my sister had this, initially the sweet potato tasted slightly salted,
however the sweet and salty feel is somewhat refreshing

we satisfied our tummies and it was time to go home. our day ended abruptly but i guess it wasn't that bad afterall :) i mean, what's better than having a good company?

ps: can you say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious 10 times continuously?

The Way We Speak English Sounds Weird?

i came across this article about how we Singaporeans can't speak proper English language for nuts. when i found out the people who had been criticizing this flaw that a handful of Singaporeans have, i sniggered away. like, hello! they can't speak proper English language for nuts too? the pot calling the kettle black? *clears my throat*

i have to agree that a number of Singaporeans have problems speaking clearly to just a certain extent. perhaps speaking in one or more languages or dialects just makes pronunciation sounds incomprehensible. so whenever we speak, some words doesn't sound like what it's supposed to be. oh wait, we speak Singlish too! so don't expect us to be perfect! Singapore also made attempts to promote good language speaking; the Speak Good English Movement was launched to help speaking better English! BESIDES, every individual country have their own unique way of speaking the English language, so i don't see why such criticisms should be made.

let me just cite an example:

Americans speaking English sounds totally different as compared to the English people.

if you're unable to agree with the above statement, then really, i wonder whose ears are working.

anyway, this discussion will end just right here. don't wanna cause any unnecessary trouble v_v

Bad/Good News

do you like hearing good news first or the bad ones? i always thought it's less hurtful to learn the bad news before announcing the good ones. it's always comforting to the ears to learn about the good news after the bad, isn't it?

There are two kinds of failures: those who thought and never did, and those who did and never thought.
some guy called Laurance J. Peter

he's damn right about it. as you can see my JPAE application is once again, unsuccessful. last night, i dreamt about my application was a success and i jumped for joy! however there's this saying that the more you tend to dream, the more it's never coming true. bloody hell, it seemed that nothing appears to be anything like my dream! ha just when reality smacks right at your face, God decides to play Russian Roulette with me. it's so obvious that i'll lose because i suck at gambling.

i have decided to give up the idea on trying another time for JPAE and head to a new direction. maybe God's trying to tell me something. i'm going to risk and take this as a new challenge. v_v

okay nuff whining about my misery, let's shift the attention to my best friend Aveline who managed to score considerably awesome grades for her A Levels!!! 1A, 3Bs and a B3! isn't that just comforting to hear such news after you just went through hell and wished how it could be you instead?! ekfprktmg#%^&*

still, i wanna take the opportunity to congratulate my dear Aveline for achieving her goals and it's just such relieve to hear great news after receiving bad news..*sits at a corner and covers up* shall meet up soon for celebration!!! your treat this time! :)

and oh, PLANS FOR AUSTRALIA?!
