Nuffnang Event: Singapore Movie Fiesta Is Gon' Be A Wowser!

Prior to what Cherie blogged in Nuffnang, I realized my sister and I were at Vivocity the same time as she was. But how come she gets to take great pictures but I don't!? Maybe it's just unlucky for me that I missed out the good part of one of Nuffnang's anticipated event of the month!

Anyway, here's what you're going to miss (If you're giving this event a miss):

Face Art (as seen on movies) done by Make-up Professionals

Hot babes and hunks in their tight superheroes suits lurking around

Shaolin Girl! Too bad I didn't win the tickets. v_v

Food Food Food!
Terra Cafe - 2.5/5 stars

My sister loved it

My Main Course

Makes No Sense: My sister mistook steamed rice for fried rice?

But she liked it anyway...

Literally, ICE cream, full of cream, and ICE

Basically my sister and I spent out night at the pet store picking up yet another hamster. Where's the other? NO, it's no longer around. YES, my roborovski passed away barely 3weeks of purchase due to a weak immune system. T_T

Oh and shopping at Daiso is awesome. Do check out that branch if you wanna do cheap shopping!

So, if you're so bored and you've got nothing to do, fly down to Vivocity, or else you'll miss all the fun! :) Remember it's tomorrow, bring your family, relatives along and enjoy the lovely super duper afternoon with them.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

i forced my own limping legs to Suntec Convention today as there was another round of warehouse sales. if sales up to 80% doesn't attract you, then i think sales isn't what you're seeking for. so anyway, i dragged my sister along; she's my crutch, you see. since both of us enjoyed each other's company, and we both love SALES, i don't see why dragging her along would be much of a hassle.

we reached the convention only to see DISAPPOINTMENT written all over our faces. 3 rooms were used but only 2/5 of the space was used for products, the other 3/5 i assumed, for air ventilation. i expected more products to be on sale, however only a few like Aigner, Levis, Liz Claiborne and this ABC brand were on the racks waiting to be sold to the crowd.

my anticipation turned from sky high to hell low..pardon for the weird figure of speech but you get my gist. lol

we stared at each other and agreed to fill our anger and disappointment with food. turning to Lerk Thai, which is one of our favourite Thai food joints, we both ordered something soupy and these were what we had!

my sister has a fate with beef, i don't know why.
ps: lose some weight so you can wear pretty apparels from topshop!

it's too yummy, i suppose...

the hot, sour and spicy feel sent shivers down my spine

after satisfying Lerk Thai, i staggered around madly checking out the shops in Marina Square with my sister. we bought pens from Meji Muji! you just don't know how much my sister and i have a passion for the things sold in Meji Muji! especially the pens! mauehuahe :0 and that was the only things we bought for the day. v_v

anyhow, our tummy begged for more food, so both of us settled at Azabu Sabo! if miss ave and miss sam didn't introduce me Azabu and Harto, i wouldn't even know they existed till today! :|

this dish made me literally smile;
it sent me straight to gastronomic heaven!

my sister had this, initially the sweet potato tasted slightly salted,
however the sweet and salty feel is somewhat refreshing

we satisfied our tummies and it was time to go home. our day ended abruptly but i guess it wasn't that bad afterall :) i mean, what's better than having a good company?

ps: can you say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious 10 times continuously?

Who Doesn't Like Shopping?!

i know 2 people who doesn't like shopping.

my sister and my dad. they share almost similar genes i tell you! they'll either whine when i ask them to accompany me to the mall or the warehouse sales. the older one grumbles and gets pissed easily. on the contrary, i'm just like my mom! we look 85% alike, share the same taste for music, arts, hobbies like shopping although a pity she's no longer around; or else we'd have been best girlfriends!

my dad gets pissed off because i keep on splurging. my sis grumbles because she just hates the crowd (sorry emo kid on the loose, my bad) so when it comes to shopping, there's only one person who comes out in my mind instantly. and that is ms sam.

despite time flying in godspeed, and though we might be miles apart, we're still web-camming and still bitching and shopping at the same time. v_v

we used to think that things in topshop are cheaper but we're all wrong. so we decided to find gems in thrift stores or eBay or even online shops! although i really want to be a super fan of online shopping and spree and after listening to how wonderful it is to buy things online, i rest my case; i don't have a card, so i either Nets or Cash it and god knows how to do a bank transfer..

i love flea markets, thrift stores and warehouse sales! they sell the cheapest shitz you couldn't imagine it's real! like for instance i went to Suntec City's designer warehouse sale earlier today! i didn't know there was one until i reached my destination. and let me show you some of my treasures! :)

Timberland buttoned shirt for my dad

Nike pullover (comfort :D)

Leather pumps from Hushpuppies

i got another plain RipCurl tee but i'm just too lazy to post a picture of it. by the way if you're interested to know the price, it's just 10bucks :)

i wanted to call Mr. Tan to inform him about the sale but his bloody phone is spoilt! V_V guess he is not fated to know about the sale afterall...

so anyway, to cut it short, warehouse sales, are cool stuff. unless you're a fashion forward person and you cannot live without getting new arrivals, then i suppose warehouse sales and thrift stores aren't really your cup of tea :O

Bling!

okay all thanks to xiaxue i am able to bling my gadgets without troubles!

apparently, it's never cheap to bling your items however if you really really want to, i thought D.I.Y is so much cheaper comparing to handphone 'pimping' services provided.

i spent under 50$ for my tools and crystals. this is what i've bought:

Epoxy Glue which writes ARALDITE across the tube ($4.80)

NOTE: DO NOT MISTAKE THIS EPOXY FIX WITH THE FORMER!

the container from the glue to place my crystals
i got my crystals from the exact shop xiaxue went to (Arab St)
do not be fooled by the 50cents because it isn't 50cents a packet!
more like 50cents discount for a packet purchased v_v
$14 a pack (144 pieces/normal size)
$3 a pack (60 pieces/ small, size5)

craft tweezers ($8.90)

kebab sticks/ toothpick/ chopstick to mix and spread the glue
and a piece of unwanted cardboard

i'm camera shy so i wont do a demo video! however for the sake of people who are really interested, i made a set of simple instructions to follow :)

my sis' Creative MP3 Player
  1. settle the crystals (arrange them by different sizes) using the given glue container to prevent confusion and keep things neat and proper
  2. release a tiny drop of glue from both white and blue tube and mix the solution together on the cardboard using your toothpick/chopstick/kebab stick note: glue is permanent
  3. spread the glue equally over the area you want to pimp your gadget
  4. using your craft tweezers, carefully set a row of normal size crystals then followed by small ones in between the huge ones to cover up the gaps
  5. note: because the glue is slow setting, you are actually able to readjust your crystals if you're unhappy with the positioning
  6. so, continue the pattern and once you're done, set the gadget to dry
  7. good and ready to go!
i'm halfway done; my small crystals ran out
so i've need to do another run to the store

i thought the video will help you have a rough idea so i've decided to put it up too!

if you have any doubt on how to bling or crystallize your gadget, drop me a comment and i'll try help to answer your questions :)
