American Idol Season 7 Top 5

5 warriors left on a battlefield. who do you think will emerge survivor?

the top 5 with Neil Diamond

tonight on American Idol, the 5 warriors are taking on stage with the songs of Neil Diamond! it's bigger and better; each finalist gets to sing 2 songs of their choice! okay, don't get too hyped up just yet. the real show has yet to begun.

ROUND ONE

Jason Castro gave an acoustic guitar performance of "Forever in Blue Jeans". subtle, but i liked it, however agreeing to what Simon said, it's forgettable.

David Cook brought Neil Diamond goosebumps with his practice performance of "I'm Alive," which many seldom listen to. i'm a totally biased person, because i think David sings well and does music arrangements brilliantly. just take a look at Billie Jean and Always Be My Baby!

Brooke White did "I'm a Believer" and trust me on this, it was way too scary. *pouts*

David Archuleta took off with "Sweet Caroline" and sounded great as usual. it seems like David Archuleta is setting the benchmark for the rest of the contestants.

Syesha Mercado said "Hello Again." "It's nice to meet you." and i was just crapping on that as well. she sung beautifully! it just gets better after every round, now i'm confused.

ROUND TWO

Jason Castro came back with "September Morn," and honestly it sounded sloppy and...oh, wait. it sounded like an American Idol yet another failed audition.

David Cook performed "All I Really Need is You." he cooed me! and guess i really need him, i mean his songs and new album in my iPod!

Brooke White revived with "I Am, I Said" her style, her rendition. it was so so so soooo much better compared to the first. guess what Brooke really needs to do is to find her niche and master stage professionalism.

David Archuleta blasted with "America." (DOH) good performace, smart song choice.

Syehsa Mercado closed the show with "Thank the Lord for the Nighttime." i loved it! i thought she was one of the best vocalist that night but to my surprise Simon said she might be in trouble which made me ponder a bit and i think i apprehended what Simon meant: Popularity a.k.a Votes

i won't be talking about what the judges commented but i wanna point out something cute about Paula Abdul that made me laugh. after Round One, Ryan Seacrest asked for the judges' opinions and Paula started with Jason and mentioning that Jason's lower register was nice and then started talking about his second song, which he hasn't even sung yet. she then said, "i thought you sang twice!" cute lol.

my guess on who's out tomorrow? Brooke White or Jason Castro.

Optical Illusions

stare at the 4 tiny circles given in the picture above for 30-40 seconds,
then move your eyes away to the wall,
blink and see something amazing happening right before your very own eyes!

i find this very interesting.
move further back to read the hidden message.
a great birthday message to your girl/boyfriend & virgin friends

trust me on this, your eyes aren't tricking you. tell me what you just seen.

the very first optical illusion i have come across.
if you're old, you'd have spotted the old lady.
if you're young, you'd have spotted the young lady.
doesn't makes sense, i know. i'm just bullcrapping

wavy? hmm.

duck or rabbit?

how many faces are you able to spot?
i found 10 (cat included)

nice handprint.

the classic.
see the circles against each other?
they look as if they're in motion,
but fact is they're still.

beer advertisement (can you see anything else besides the skull?)

shaver advertisement (me likey!)

this is a lil tricky.
stare at the girl with white blouse for 15 seconds.
you'll witness glory!

Malaysian DJs, Lovely Parodies!

haha i was so amused by this parody done by JJ and Rudy, whom i assume are Malaysian DJs. they have done Malaysia and mamak proud! witty ditty, the duo came up with a mamak version, with style and spice okay! from "where do you get your body from" to "where do you get your tosai from"...it's gotta be something!

i know little about Malaysian culture, but i appreciate different cultures; they're eye openers and it's always something new to me, which i like a lot!

this Malaysian student in UK commented:

"From a foreigner's point of view, the sight of a mamak stall packed with people who congregate in groups of tens to watch a football match with servings after servings of roti telur and kopi kurang manis in the sweltering heat and humidity might appear rather bizzare. Add to that the fact that you'll find people of all ages (from teenagers to working professionals and senior citizens) and of all races (we Chinese love our mamak, no?) - and what you get is a melting pot with a unique experience that can't be replicated anywhere else in the world (imagine a place like Murni or Steven's Corner in London O.o). Should you have the chance to bring a foreigner to a mamak stall, do it! Whether (s)he likes it or not, it would be an experience from her visit to Malaysia that he won't forget."

haha now i feel like going to Malaysia for some cheap food and shopping! now does anyone wanna tag me along? :)

by the way, i googled for JJ and Rudy, and they have other parodies of hit songs like Fast & Furious...

and the catchy Don Cha by PCD...

haha i just love original parodies which worth a laugh! sit back, enjoy and maybe dance along :)

Dance Like There's No Tomorrow

have you heard?!

Paula Abdul debuted her new single off Randy Jackson’s new album in the top 24 results show of American Idol, and all I have to say is one word - HOTTTT!

besides turning piles of turd into flowers, it seems like Paula Abdul does remember how to sing!

Top 3? O-M-G

i'm not an avid watcher of the Malaysian Dreamgirl reality show, however due to boredom earlier, i've decided to continue the show from where i stopped. to my surprise, i never expected the Top 3 girls to be Hanis, Cindy and Adeline! i understand Hanis being in Top 3 (because people like her), but Cindy and Adeline? oh-my-god give me a break! it was unbelievable that Cindy and Adeline managed to top Jay and Nadia!

although Ringo has left, i believe she'll be showered with plenty of opportunities as she's not only quite a popular blogger in Malaysia, she's also talented, like what the host told her, "Go host a show or something!" which i couldn't say more but to agree. i took a peep of her photo shot and realised what went wrong. she could have aced the shot by exaggerating (eg. jumping or sitting at the weirdest position ever), but her eyes gave it away. i thought the fact she is a popular blogger, she might get her votes from her readers, but guess i'm wrong.

on why i think Adeline should be out eons ago:

i do see great body physique, but there are many other factors on why i don't think she should stand out among the rest: speech, the same facial expression she produces in every photoshoot = versatility

as for Cindy, her shots are mediocre, not dynamic, fails to wow me. i don't know maybe it's just me. but the fact she has a great smile and she looks pretty, i think she might win this.

this photoshoot made Hanis looked like some goddess, all thanks to Photoshop! however i hate the arms (esp. the one holding on the fabric) the dress looks great however it doesn't look flattering especially around the chest area.

i love Nadia! but too bad this shot made her look as if she has just emerged from the deadly seas; of seed weeds and moss a.k.a dirty-looking. it's a pity she's out because i thought the previous photoshoot she took were really, not that bad! (except for the Wella Inspiration v_v)

my ultimate favourite Jay. never understood why she didn't make the cut to be in top 3, i was thinking hard then i thought of the reason that makes most sense: VOTES.
i mean, she takes dynamic shots, and she looks great! i guess she isn't everyone's favourite! :(

now if you want me to predict the winner of Malaysian Dreamgirl, i think it'd be either Hanis or Cindy. *prays hard it'll not fall into the hands of Adeline*

PPS: i know you guys all all crazy over this song, so i've decided to put a direct link up just for you. (latest addition: David Cook's Billie Jean [Studio Version])

O-M-G I'm Famous!

okay i lied.

the reason why i love controversies is because one can never get enough of them. controversies can live as long as you ever even remember. controversies, obviously are matters in life we argue about, having disputes of, or even debating who's right or wrong.

and many, in that case will think that they are correct and they want to win even if they're wrong. at the end of the day, nobody knows who's the winner. it just goes on and on like running water from a tap.

for example, the Edison Chen photo scandal caused an uproar to the showbiz and brought up many controversial matters like, the upbringing of a child...sex education or should raunchy photos be taken and stored in devices...(too many to mention)

another example would be the infamous 2 Girls 1 Cup video which created havoc within netizens, and even sequels came along.

bloggers who read Xiaxue's blog would have vividly remembered the entire Steven Lim vs. Xiaxue issue or xialanxue who blogged about how "fake" Dawn Yang is sparkled a frenzy in the blogosphere.

because of our inquisitiveness, we read them, and sometimes, we blog about them. we might blog negative thoughts about it while others think otherwise. we love it, they hate it. we think we're correct, others think we're wrong. but isn't this what controversies all about?

we're funny beings. we claim to be unaware of certain situations but deep down inside we know exactly what's going on. given a scenario a serial rapist got caught by the police and mouths were wagging, so happened you came across your neighbour and she started the whole topic. it's unbelievable sometimes we're able to act as if nothing has ever happened, "oh my god, did that really happen?" when deep down inside we're like, "that's great! i'm so glad that happened." we're hypocrites, subconsciously hypocritical.

though these controversial issues might have died down, but with our freedom to blog or motor mouth that open and shut, anything from the dead can be revived within a night! media goes down and dirty.

now that all this happened, i won't blame others but for ourselves. we brought it upon ourselves, controversies sparkle and my take on that? just let it happen, go with the flow and about the saying curiosity kills the cat, i choose not to believe it.

Sarcasm, My Middle Name?

fret not, but sarcasm isn't my middle name. i've met people who are million times more sarcastic than i am! how sarcasm are they?

like the creator of sarcasmsociety.com, he mentioned that:

"There is nothing more beautiful than sarcasm. That is definitely an overstatement but it should balance the moronic comment which says that sarcasm is the lowest form of humor. Now, whoever made that statement was desperately in need of a rectal broomstick extraction procedure.

Sarcasm usually requires a quick wit, and the ability to extract the minutest points of weakness in a conversation. So it is quite unlikely that it is the lowest form of humor as some would like to call it. Perhaps not being able to enjoy sarcasm is directly related to not having the ability to come up with sarcastic comments, which in turn creates a feeling of inadequacy, which in turn can spawn a Napoleon complex, that can cause someone to logicise that sarcasm is the humor of the stupid."

sarcasm, can be beautiful, on the other hand, sarcasm can also be ugly too. it can cut and slice you up like a sharp pointed knife, or it can make you look like a dainty looking princess.

there's only a few people whom i think carry out sarcasm swiftly, one of those is my friend Elina. she speaks like a pro and doesn't likes you to look pretty, so she's the vicious kind that cuts and slices you up neatly.

Everybody lies.

there another is Gregory House, who walks on a stick with a mouth made of molten steel.

Dr Cameron: Men should grow up.
Dr. Gregory House: Yeah. And dogs should stop licking themselves. It's not gonna happen.

{----}

Dr. Wilson: Even I don't like you!
Dr. Gregory House: Words can hurt you know.

{----}

Dr. Gregory House: You know how they say, "you can't live without love"? Well, oxygen is even more important.

if you're a big watcher of the medical drama, you'd have noted all the witty sarcasm he made. he's smart, he's sexy, i likey!!!

too bad for me no matter how hard i try to be sarcastic, i fail badly because i get cold sweat easily when someone rebuts and my mind will pause on a standstill, which sucks bad. note that i get attracted to people who carry out sarcasm like a pro. i don't know but i find that sexy and rather appealing. hehe

The Grinch

this is a story of a guy who loves to dang. he dangs because we nang ourselves. and he, in my opinion thinks that danging people is just another act of his promise to his readers; his entry on how pissed he is when someone nang their entry, so in return, he'll dang every single people who are proud of their work, therefore whenever we nang, he dangs.

most of my entries i've nanged, he danged them. haha and i'm amused.

i call him, the Boogey Man a.k.a the Grinch.

he doesn't dig brains out of people, but he digs emotions out of us. he makes us angry, feeling pissed, confused, disturbed and sometimes even sad. people hate him. people love him. he's one anti-self nanger person, and we all know you know who.

i always had this gut feeling about him that because of his dangs, he gets more readers as we'll be curious about his doings and will take the trouble to actually visit his blog or dig more information about him. so instead of "hating" him, or "loving" him, we're actually creating unique visits in his site stats counter. smart move, i say :)

i blog this entry, not because i hate him, neither do i love him. the reason why i blog this entry is to all who are feeling crossed, fury and disappointed. let's not waste emotions on this guy because he doesn't deserve any! i mean, he's doing his job as a blogger and an anti-self nanger so let him be! so whenever he dangs you, don't be surprised but keep doing what you always do: nang yourself!

ps: this post is dedicated to Nuffnangers in Innit :)

Mind Made Up

i've grown so much! from primary school to secondary school, i've not only grown horizontally, i also gained life knowledge as i walk past time. friends of mine graduated to become outstanding individuals when it comes to studies and work, some become hotter, shrunk and i've even heard one of my closest friend was nominated for FHM Girl Next Door! some became belles of their school, a few turned to modeling, a handful flown to other parts of the world to work or study...time really changes one, doesn't it?

like my friend SL, he's not only in drama, he's in an advertisement too! he used to be one of those monkeys in my class but turned out to be some good looking chap, of course with his loud personality still lingering...somewhere...

it seems that many have found what they want in life except for me, trying hard to know what i really want until there was this day i made up my mind.

Advertising. i think it not only broadens my knowledge for media, design and marketing and many others (can't think of any yet), it also spurs me to learn more as i go and drives me to be more innovative and creative when it comes to ideas. i know it's gonna be tough and not as easy as i think it's going to be, but i believe when someone is engrossed in their passion, they'll never stop pursuing and that's what i'm going to do. although, i have not tried or do i have any advertising experiences, i'm going to give a shot! i mean, no harm trying, isn't it?

everyone have dreams too, okay? but i know mine is going to come true. wait and see y'all!

When Girls Say "Nothing"

as female, i thought this is so typical yet true. here are some pointers for the guys to take note when girls speak the golden words. do take a minute or two to read and absorb, learn and adapt. :)
  1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

  2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

  3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

  4. Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

  5. This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wastng er time standing here and

  6. That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

  7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' ... that will bring on a 'whatever').

  8. Whatever: Is a women's way of saying ____ YOU!

  9. Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

Keep A Child Alive

just when we thought that AIDS will never reach us, just when we thought we will breeze through life by performing safe sex, just when we thought AIDS is no big deal in our community...

i caught this film documentary Alicia in Africa, and i thought it would be nice to let people know.

Alicia Keys and Keep a Child Alive, an urgent response to the AIDS pandemic, have produced a brand new documentary featuring Alicia's journey through several HIV affected communities.. even though it's just a 45-minute documentary, i applaud Alicia Keys for being the ambassador for KeepAChildAlive.Org without any hesitation. with soft caring eyes, she embraced children in her arms and tried her best to help with what she could and making the film a success.

i believed the reason why she filmed this documentary isn't any for the media's attention but hoping for media to fix attention on those innocent children so that more help can be reached.

i cried and felt ashamed because the kids are young, however they are strong willed and very optimistic about their future. despite the poverty and the pandemic, they dream and aspire to be responsible adults and inspiring figures of their own future. whereas there are people like me, sitting and down and thinking how cursed her life is blah blah. i knew i learned something valuable today.

let's not give in to complacency. let's not doubt the power of AIDS. if you have the ability, please give helping hands to those who need it more than we do. help the children, give them a deserving life like how we think ours is. if you don't have the ability, it'll be kind if words are spread.

ps: the best thing about this film is that you can catch it free! just head to this link, and watch the entire movie! :)

YouTube Pisses Me Bad

picture you're watching your favourite MTV on television and your mom comes over, grabs the remote control from your hands and switch it off.

most immediate reactions would be: TURN IT BACK ON I'M STILL NOT DONE WITH IT!

this is the problem with YouTube these days and i have no idea what beans it's going through. because whenever i'm watching the episodes i've missed out from American Idol, YouTube somehow gets disconnected! no matter how many times i try getting back in, this error flashed on the screen:
Http/1.1 Internal Server Error

is it just me acting all paranoid or YouTube trying to be funny? argh and i was wondering how long this error will last in the server because it's making me rather impatient! moreover this happened twice to me! how frustrating can that be! bah what's happening!

but i'll still always love YouTube for posting awesome videos that i'll watch :/

note: the error always occur around time like GST+8 5am (which is like a few minutes ago)

argh this season's american idol is really THAT good!

his rendition made me fell for him instantly!
in only 3mins! amazing!

Who Are You Calling A Whore?

do you feel disgusted when you know your neighbour is a prostitute? or do you feel ashamed someone you know turned to prostitution?

initially, whenever i watch typical movies or tv dramas, my immediate reaction to seeing a prostitute selling her/his body to people who are desperate for sex made me felt ashamed and revolted. you can earn money by other means! but not by prostitution! i believe most of us will agree. however, if you guys are aware, prostitution is one of the fastest money earning route for someone who needs money badly or someone who has nobody to rely on in their lives? note that this is not an encouragement to anyone to turn into prostitution.

take for an example, the maths prodigy Sufiah Yusof from Malaysia who turned into prostitution. yes, she did sold her body for £130 an hour and told the posing punter that she did full sex with a condom and oral sex without protection. but do you really think she likes it that way? why? i believe every thing is possible. i won't be surprised if a prodigy is selling his/her body for a mere 200bucks an hour; isn't that what's prostitution all about?

prostitute in Oxford dictionary means : person who offers sexual intercourse for payment.

Sufiah Yusof: what lies behind my smile?

that's what the maths prodigy did. she offered sex for money to feed herself and to keep herself alive. isn't that what everyone is doing? earning money to keep themselves alive? yes i think it's really wasted for a maths prodigy to turn into prostitution but has anyone thought of her life and what she had been through? do we know her well enough to disgrace her?

in the past, Sufiah's dad Farooq forced her to perform stretching and breathing exercises in freezing rooms to keep her brain attentive. the poor girl studied like hell, then being forced to play tennis with just as much intensity as fanatical Farooq drove her on. the routine was so effective Sufiah was seeded number eight in the country for under 21s. she was successful, and won herself a place in Oxford.

her family is screwed. her family failed to attend her wedding. she got divorced. Farooq had been jailed for three years in a £1.5m mortgage swindle. also, he had been sent to borstal for his role in a conspiracy involving £100,000. now, he was known to have sexually assaulted two 15-year-old girls as he home-tutored them in maths. Sufiah showed no sign of sadness when Farooq was put to jail clearly showed how much her dislike for him.

with such physical and emotional torment, which child is able to breeze through such stress in life? nobody is perfect, unless you're born with brains and bodies of superman or superwoman then fine, i shall stop.

i believe nobody in the world is born to become a prostitute, however are nurtured or forced to become one. how can we call them cheap? or sluts? when all they did was to do their job and earn their money? at least they don't go around killing people for money, isn't it?

note: porn stars and prostitution might be similiar, but a porn star is more to entertainment and showing it to the entire world rather than receiving it as a per client based. prostitutes might not like what they're doing to their bodies, however, most porn stars did it for the screen but who knows they have their own story to tell too.

so stop all the stereotyping of prostitutes when you don't even know their side of their story! everybody wants to be loved and lead a happy and fulfilling life, and i believe prostitutes are human too.

so give them a break and have yourself a kit-kat.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

i forced my own limping legs to Suntec Convention today as there was another round of warehouse sales. if sales up to 80% doesn't attract you, then i think sales isn't what you're seeking for. so anyway, i dragged my sister along; she's my crutch, you see. since both of us enjoyed each other's company, and we both love SALES, i don't see why dragging her along would be much of a hassle.

we reached the convention only to see DISAPPOINTMENT written all over our faces. 3 rooms were used but only 2/5 of the space was used for products, the other 3/5 i assumed, for air ventilation. i expected more products to be on sale, however only a few like Aigner, Levis, Liz Claiborne and this ABC brand were on the racks waiting to be sold to the crowd.

my anticipation turned from sky high to hell low..pardon for the weird figure of speech but you get my gist. lol

we stared at each other and agreed to fill our anger and disappointment with food. turning to Lerk Thai, which is one of our favourite Thai food joints, we both ordered something soupy and these were what we had!

my sister has a fate with beef, i don't know why.
ps: lose some weight so you can wear pretty apparels from topshop!

it's too yummy, i suppose...

the hot, sour and spicy feel sent shivers down my spine

after satisfying Lerk Thai, i staggered around madly checking out the shops in Marina Square with my sister. we bought pens from Meji Muji! you just don't know how much my sister and i have a passion for the things sold in Meji Muji! especially the pens! mauehuahe :0 and that was the only things we bought for the day. v_v

anyhow, our tummy begged for more food, so both of us settled at Azabu Sabo! if miss ave and miss sam didn't introduce me Azabu and Harto, i wouldn't even know they existed till today! :|

this dish made me literally smile;
it sent me straight to gastronomic heaven!

my sister had this, initially the sweet potato tasted slightly salted,
however the sweet and salty feel is somewhat refreshing

we satisfied our tummies and it was time to go home. our day ended abruptly but i guess it wasn't that bad afterall :) i mean, what's better than having a good company?

ps: can you say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious 10 times continuously?
