apparently, it's never cheap to bling your items however if you really really want to, i thought D.I.Y is so much cheaper comparing to handphone 'pimping' services provided.
i spent under 50$ for my tools and crystals. this is what i've bought:
the container from the glue to place my crystalsi got my crystals from the exact shop xiaxue went to (Arab St)
do not be fooled by the 50cents because it isn't 50cents a packet!
more like 50cents discount for a packet purchased v_v
$14 a pack (144 pieces/normal size)
$3 a pack (60 pieces/ small, size5)
kebab sticks/ toothpick/ chopstick to mix and spread the glueand a piece of unwanted cardboard
i'm camera shy so i wont do a demo video! however for the sake of people who are really interested, i made a set of simple instructions to follow :)
- settle the crystals (arrange them by different sizes) using the given glue container to prevent confusion and keep things neat and proper
- release a tiny drop of glue from both white and blue tube and mix the solution together on the cardboard using your toothpick/chopstick/kebab stick note: glue is permanent
- spread the glue equally over the area you want to pimp your gadget
- using your craft tweezers, carefully set a row of normal size crystals then followed by small ones in between the huge ones to cover up the gaps
- note: because the glue is slow setting, you are actually able to readjust your crystals if you're unhappy with the positioning
- so, continue the pattern and once you're done, set the gadget to dry
- good and ready to go!
